Contemporary Security Issues

This course examines global conflict and security in the post-Cold War era from a variety of theoretical perspectives with particular attention to contemporary debates and issues. Topics may include peacekeeping, humanitarian intervention, the military-industrial complex, the ‘war on terror’, refugees and migration, poverty and development and environmental security. Pre-requisite: Year 3 or Year 4 (PO231 recommended). Exclusion: PO311j, GS400j*.
